What to expect:
Set sail on Thursday afternoon from Anacortes Washington and venture into the San Juan Islands for a wonderful four days of sailing, exploring and learning, all the while surrounded by the beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife unique to the Pacific Northwest.  Spend each night anchored in a different scenic anchorage, secluded cove or quaint island port in the San Juan’s.  During the day learn to set, trim, and reef sails, handle lines and winches, navigate. Sail a course, maneuver in various conditions, anchor, moor and dock.  Instruction Covers ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising, with written and skills test, when you return on Sunday afternoon. Our goal is for you to achieve the ASA 104 certification.  This of course will depend on your pre-study, effort and performance.

The tuition includes all course materials including the text book, charts, an ASA Log book, written test, your ASA certification and a certified instructor.  It also includes a one year membership with ASA, a one year subscription to Sailing Magazine and other benefits available to ASA members.  The class size is limited to a maximum of 4 students to ensure optimum sailing time for each student.  With your ASA 101 certification, you can pursue higher levels of training within the ASA curriculum.
Given the length of the trip and the size of boat, we permit up to four students per class.

Thinking about chartering in Europe?
ASA strongly recommends you apply for an International Proficiency Certificate if you are chartering in the Mediterranean as well as the inland waterways of Europe and northern Europe. Most charter companies accept this certificate as adequate proof of bareboat skipper proficiency including Kiriakoulis Charters which has 300+ locations in the Mediterranean. As countries differ in their requirements, travelers should always check with their destination prior to attempting to charter.  Read more about International Proficiency Certificate...
