INTRO TO SAILING (ITS)Intro to Sailing

 "Introduction to Sailing" adventure is designed to introduce you to the sport of Sailing! Take the helm, feel the wind on your face and catch the spirit of sailing. You'll spend 3 fun-filled hours on the water in one of our boats with one of our certified instructors. They are on board to answer your questions, teach you a little bit, and most important of all, show you a great time.

GRADUATE CRUISING CLASS (GCC)Graduate Cruising Class

Graduate students that already have their Basic ASA 101 certification and are looking to use their skills on a regular basis can sign up for a three week class that offers three evening classes for three hours each, aboard one of our fleet boats with an instructor.  There are no materials needed other than you at the helm and having a good time. 

What to expect:

Sailing on one of our fleet boats during a three hour casual sail using your skills learned from previous courses.  There will be a Certified Instructor on board to provide support and assistance during a pleasurable sail.  Most importantly it’s about the experience and having a good time!  

Class Hours: 9 Hours, Generally three consecutive Mondays

Prerequisite: Graduates that have there ASA 101 or up to 103.   ASA 101 students allotted one class a season.  ASA 103 students can sign up for unlimited classes.  Minimum 2-4 students per class.

DOCKING ENDORSEMENT (118)Docking Endorsement

This hands-on course allows students to learn theory and practice repetitive docking and casting-off maneuvers to reinforce understanding of theory, methods and skills. Both novice and experienced sailors will benefit from this course as the techniques apply to small outboard sailboat in the 20-foot range on up to 50-foot inboard cruising yachts.

Upon successful completion of this course, students experience a significant increase in enjoyment in all of their sailing ventures because they will no longer fear docking at the end of the day. Spouses particularly enjoy mastering these skills because it helps them to become more proficient and confident as crewmembers.

Class Hours: 6 Hours

Prerequisite: ASA 101 – Basic Keelboat

SPINNAKER HANDLING (SHC)

This course teaches you how to use the grand daddy of them all, the spinnaker sail. The spinnaker sail adds performance and speed. If you're interested in racing this is a must class for you. This 8 hour class teaches you all the equipment, different types of spinnakers, how to pack, hoist, set, gybe, trim and douse the spinnaker.
